A Government enquiry in 2001 recommended the increased provision of complementary medicine in the NHS where there is evidence of patient demand and effectiveness. We offer therapies which have been proven to be effective for certain medical conditions, such as osteopathy for backpain and acupuncture for arthritis.
High quality complementary therapies are playing an increasingly important role in health and social care. There are lots of examples on the Relief Map and a few selected highlights here:
Complementary therapy in Cancer Care
Complementary therapy in Haematology
Complementary therapy in Mental Health
Complementary therapy in Prison
Complementary therapy in Drug and Alcohol Services
