joined the Medical Protection Society in 1981, becoming both head of the Dental Division and Secretary and Dental Director of a new division called Dental Protection before retiring in December of 1999
former lay member of the General Osteopathic Council from its inception as a regulatory body for seven years
served as an advisor to the House of Commons Select Committee
awarded an OBE in 1994 for his services to dentistry
